Before joining Huawei, he was working for Nokia almost 14 years and was leading Nokia’s global cybersecurity function. Beside his Huawei work, Mika has been also working now almost 12 years for EU commissions Cybersecurity Agency as Advisor as well several years as Cybersecurity and Privacy advisor for EUROPOL (European Police organization). Mika is also Senior Fellow in Maastricht University, in faculty of law, where his subjects are Cybersecurity, Privacy and Geopolitics

Linda Scholten

During her master’s Environmental Sciences, Linda researched how to improve capacity building and facilitate peer learning of community-based groups. This paved the way to work for associations that also encourage peers to meet, share and learn from each other to further their field of expertise. Having worked for a number of associations, Linda enjoys the sheer diversity of activities, which enables her to fuse the knowledge gained during her business administration, marketing and sciences degrees. This includes strategic planning, facilitating the start-up and growth of national networks and working groups; developing communication material; as well as organizing international events. Currently, she is working for EFFoST that is dedicated to facilitating knowledge and technology exchange among food professionals to advance the production of sustainable and healthy food for all in a changing world. Here she is also responsible for the communication and dissemination of a number of EU projects alongside her association activities.

In 2015 she joined Coca-Cola Hellenic as the Senior Procurement Specialist in charge of Indirect Spend Category – sales and marketing, services and events. She is responsible for leading regional and group tenders, business planning and reporting. She supports global projects and development of supplier strategies. Above all, she manages organization of major global events for the company.

Imre Diosi

Event, sponsoring & motorsport manager

More than 12 years of experience in the event management sector. He joined Michelin in 2001 as sales and logistic expert, from 2004 trade marketing manager, from 2007 event manager for 4 countries. Currently he is responsible for event, sponsoring and motorsport in Southern- and Central-Europe (13 countries). As an event manager he is organizing more than 30 events on a yearly level. His main mission is to organize a high-quality level of experience to different target groups supporting the main marketing and sales objectives of the company. He is very engaged to apply the latest innovations and technology during his everyday work and in the same time seeking for environment-friendly solutions in order to decrease the ecological footprint..

Jacques Spelkens

Jacques Spelkens was born in Brussels (Belgium) in 1957. After graduating in Philology, in Philosophy and Politic Science at the ULB (University of Brussels), he started his professional career as a teacher and University Professor. He’s still teaching Master classes in “Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility” at ICHEC Brussels Management School. He joined the then GDF SUEZ Group in 2003, in charge of Communication and Linguistics. In 2008, he became CSR Manager for the Group (based both in Paris and in Brussels) and in 2010 also Head of the Department Social Innovation. In 2013, became Member of the Board of CSR Europe and several organizations in the CSR sector. He’s currently a Head of CSR for the Benelux, in charge of environmental, social, societal issues as well as Corporate Citizenship activities and sustainability within the various activities of the company.

Ebba Lund

Ebba Lund holds an MA in Media Studies, University of Aarhus, Denmark, and an Executive MBA from IE Business School, Madrid, Spain. At IASP she is especially involved in strategy implementation, membership services, matchmaking and event management. She has been the contact point for IASP members organising IASP world conferences and regional events for more than 15 years and also acts as Coordinator of the Steering Committee Secretariat of IASP World Conferences. Other key areas of Ebba Lund’s role at IASP are international network relations and communication, representing the association and supporting a global membership of Science/Technology Parks and Areas of Innovation in more than 75 countries.

Charu Malik, PhD

Over 12 years of experience in the non-profit sector, the majority of which have been with professional healthcare societies. She joined the ISN as an Executive Director in January 2019. She came to the ISN from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), where she was the Vice President for Education, Research, and Special Projects. Prior to APIC, she was the Executive Director for the World Allergy Organization, a global federation of almost 100 national and regional societies. As a staff lead at the Institute for Diversity Education and Leadership, Charu played a critical role in implementing the programs of a public-private partnership aimed at advancing diversity in the workplace, marketplace, and community. Charu transitioned into executive management of professional societies from undergraduate teaching in women’s studies, gender studies, and comparative literature. She earned her doctorate in English and American literature from Washington University in St. Louis.

Sven joined ESTRO as Head of Innovation in April 2018. It is his task to ensure that marketing, communication, events and platform work as true enablers for achieving ESTRO’ s mission: to foster the role of radiation oncology to improve patient’s care. Or in more practical terms: reduce the gap between patients needing treatment and patients actually getting the treatment. Prior to joining ESTRO, Sven worked for 20 years in the financial services world. The first 10 years of his career he worked as an international programme manager at ING, followed by 10 years at SWIFT – the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications. At SWIFT, Sven oversaw Sibos – SWIFT’ s flagship event which brings together over 8,000 decision takers from over 150 countries for 4 days to discuss the common challenges the financial community faces and the common solutions to be put in place.

This passion continued and after graduating the master studies in “Innovation and Tourism” in Salzburg & Hong Kong and after a trip around the world the enthusiasm for the events industry grew. What makes her smile every day, is when she can show clients around in her beautiful country and share her home as a future knowledge hub for conferences. Previously Elisabeth, worked as a sales manager at a conference venue, hotels and DMCs which gives her a great understanding of the industry..

Nemanja Petrovic is an economist with many years of experience in developing, financing and managing innovative projects in different areas. He is currently in the position of CBDO of Real Market, in charge of directing the development of technological solutions to the real needs of the market. RealMarket develops an integrated ecosystem of fintech and regtech products, which, with the help of blockchain and machine learning technology, tends to develop the potential of a programmable economy. Nemanja is actively involved in communication with key decision-makers in the European Union and the Republic of Serbia as an active member of the community. He is involved in the Startit Center Council, is a member of the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Application and ECN (European Crowdfunding Network).

Iain has organised over 30 international innovation conferences, developing strong networks in the process. As a business graduate with more than 30 years of experience, Iain has worked with a variety of enterprises and cultures worldwide. Prior to joining ISPIM, Iain co-founded Enterprizer Technologies where he developed decision-support tools for the management community and worked on many projects for national and regional development agencies and for the European Commission and United Nations. Iain is passionate about events and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world, particularly on the subject of how to develop successful events.

Milos Milovanovic

He has over 10 years’ experience in the meetings industry and has consulted on projects in Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan and Rwanda. Prior to joining GainingEdge, Milos was the CEO of Serbia Convention Bureau where he was instrumental in its establishment and development. Under his leadership, the bureau has made constant progress in ICCA rankings (International Congress and Convention Association) making the top 50 globally.

Milos has a diploma in Economics from the University of Belgrade and Master’s degree from Ecole Centrale Paris. In his previous career as marketing and project management specialist he has worked with universities, business associations, international donors and AID agencies creating a number of educational and training programmes in the hospitality and meetings industry.

Igor Kovacevic

Successfully combining academic and business careers for over 12 years, Igor Kovacević has been part of the Serbia journey from “no destination” to the MICE leader in the region and TOP 50 in the world. In the last 10 years, he has been mainly focusing on working closely with international associations which resulted in establishing proactive sales platform targeting international clients. In the last 3 years Igor led the bidding process for over 71 bids in addition to 47 confirmed events. He has been implementing very successful Congress Ambassador program, creating long lasting relations with local distinguished members of the program. Igor is also Assistant Professor at the leading Faculty in the region, Faculty of Economics in Belgrade. Starting December 2018, Igor is a Deputy Chair at ICCA Central European Chapter.

Magdalina Atanassova
